Ranger's Apprentice Alt. End.Even though the kalkara were dead, Halt and everyone else seemed to be on edge. War was coming, that was for sure, but the kalkara were just one more thing to worry over. Were they really gone? Will sat alone in the highest tree near his home, watching the smoke rise from the chimney and letting all these thoughts and more process through his mind. His mentor was inside, looking over papers that needed to be delivered to all the fiefs. Will wondered how he could handle so much work after just recovering from his injuries.
